Fun things to do when bored?

Boredom is a choice you make, not a state of existence. If you are bored, it is because you are allowing yourself to be bored. Look around you. Most likely you have books, and a wide variety of other possessions. Look at the things around you and think of ways to use them. If there are people around you, think of ways to help those people. Think of others and how to help them, not yourself, and you will never be bored.

Anyway, here is a list of things you can do when bored.

Play computer games,

scrabble,

read a book or magazine,

do crossword puzzles or sudoku,

listen to music,

watch a movie,

write in a journal,

play a board game,

cook something,

clean the house,

go for a walk,

work out,

call a friend,

send emails,

visit someone,

or even go shopping.

Writing in a journal is an interesting thing to do, especially when you go back weeks or months or even years later and read what you wrote. Buy yourself an interesting blank journal that represents who you are, and start writing your daily thoughts, ideas, and important events. You'll be surprised at how quickly you will look forward to the time you spend with it each day. And it could become a powerful record for posterity.

Look for a new hobby. Find something that is of particular interest to you. Possibly you might like to begin researching and compiling your family tree. I am sure many members of your family would encourage you with a project such as that. A couple of other things that come to mind that I have found interesting in the past, and they now occupy my grandchildren are learning to do origami (read the story about Sadako and the 1000 paper cranes, and maybe start a paper crane project of your own), and another is learning to tie different knots (most book stores will have a book on the different knots, and it is quite interesting, and also a very useful skill to have).

Take a class - learn the finer points of digital photography, painting, writing short stories, small appliance repair, playing bridge, dog grooming, pottery, home maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, quilting, scrapbooking, or anything else that is offered in your area. Often you can find classes that are free, or almost free.

Finally, and probably most importantly, if you find yourself bored often, consider volunteering. It will give you a new focus in your life, and it is a good feeling to help someone less fortunate or more in need than yourself. It can be a life changing experience.

Fun things to do when you are bored - Ideas and fun stuff to do!

Are you bored? Here's a list with fun things to do, in order to get active and amuse your bored self

For some of the things listed here, you need absolutely nothing or just ordinary stuff every home has. Let us begin with the first 3 ideas! Read part 2 for the a couple of more ideas.

First Idea: Burn unpleasant memories

Few people know just how relieving it is to burn things down. I find it extremely enjoyable to burn old photos of people I no longer like and sweep the skeletons out of my closet. The best way to do is light up a candle and then set whatever you wish to burn on fire. Be creative!

Second Idea: Eat an ice cube

Just too many fat people are "boredom eaters". That is, they don't eat when depressed, they just eat because they've got nothing else to do. So, instead of attacking the fridge and regretting it later, you could eat one (or more) icecubes! They've got zero calories, they're tasty and they're going to make your cravings go away.

Third Idea: Write a letter

But, not just an ordinary letter. And off course, you won't be writing it with pen and ink - forget about it! You are going to cut off letters from magazines and newspapers and stick them all together to create sentences. That's off course going to take ages! Be creative! It could be an anonymous death threat to a celebrity you hate, a note to your parents that you've been kidnapped signed by a felon or something even more amusing!

Fourth Idea: Explore the TV world

I guess you have a couple of channels that you watch every day, but it might be a good idea to check out other channels if you are bored. I am talking about small, unpopular channels not many people watch here. You are bound to run into hilarious luck and chance games where nobody wins like "find-the-difference" or "find-the-proverb". These shows are set up off course, but if you don't believe me, dial the numbers of the games and find out yourself. Your boredom will disappear, since you'll be anxiously waiting to get on air (which is something not too likely to happen).

Fifth Idea: Get active

Haven't you always promised to yourself that you'd get more active and run for 20 minutes every day? What, you didn't have the time? Then, what the heck are you doing here now? Come on, chop chop! Do ten push ups, ten sit ups, run for 30 minutes... Come on, time to tone your muscles!

4 steps to cure your boredom in a worthy way and things to do when bored.

Bored, bugged? Do not know what to do? Finding things to do when bored? Read through this article and I guarantee your boredom will be cured in less than 5 minutes.

Most people out there usually fill out their boredom times by doing things that are wasteful. For me, instead of doing things will waste out your time, why don’t you guys doing something that will be a gold coin to yourself?

Don’t worry, I will explain in this article step-by-step to eliminate your boredom in a fun and a worthy way and things to do when bored.

1. FIND something that interesting you

As the first step, what you need to do is find something that you are interested in. This step looks easy but noted that this is the most crucial part. If you fail to do this, then you fail yourself.

Remember to find something that you really need to know and really interested. Close your eyes and think about stuff and activities involve around you. Find something that you lack off and can be improved. No need to rush, take your time and thinks about it again. Make sure to be specific as you can.

At the end of this step, you need to come out with at least one ‘keyword’. Why do you need to have the keyword? These keywords will make sure you are on the right track and you will archive what you want.

For example for me I love to play basketball (my interest), and I want to improve my basketball dribbling skills (my aim). So I take my keyword as “Basketball dribbling tips and tricks” and “Basketball dribbling guide”. You can use your own keyword but make sure to be specific. For this, I choose dribbling, so my track is only on dribbling and not shooting or rebound. No need to rush, go on with one by one. When I master dribbling then only I will focus on shooting and rebound.

2. Search for it.

Using the keyword that we get from step one, Google it and search for it. Do not just go to google and search for "things to do when bored". of course a lot of things will came out, but in the end, what will you get?

For your information, out there, there is a ton of place where you can find and search thing. Almost every aspect in this world already covered in the internet, just whether you can find it, or not.

If you in something that needs a model or an example, you can search it in Youtube, Metacafe, or Google Video. Google blog search also a great place for you guys to find information and something valuables to you. Noted that blogs out there can be divided into two categories, that is monetize blog, and non-monetize blog. Monetize blog easily to find, but sometimes you will need to pay for what you want.

For me, I would rather use free material than paid one. Remember, we only want to fill out our free time and cure our boredom, so no need to take out your credit card (if you want to do so it is up to you. This step is the reasons why we need to came out with a good keyword in order to find what you need.

3. Training, participate, and involve around this area.

When you find out the sites that provide you with information and guide that you need, read through it, job down important point, and do not forget to save it or bookmark that sites. Most people do forget to bookmark or save the sites and tend to forget their aim without archiving it. Another things is usually website out there will provide for us with its related content regarding our search, so do pay a visit to that link. Who knows it might give you a helping hand.

4. Test your knowledge. Share it to your friends.

This part is the best part. After all your burden, stress and tiredness, give a reward to yourself. Use your knowledge that you just gained before and test it, share it, and brag about it. Make sure not to much or else. By doing this, you will gain yourself a confidence in doing things and you will want to do it again and again later.

If you are bored again, just repeat the above steps. “Find” “Search” “Training” and “Test”.

Good luck~

If the above steps doesnt work for you, maybe you should just go and search for things to do when bored at google..

Fun things to do when bored

Pass away the pointless hours with our list of things to do when you're bored
1. Things you can do with absolutely nothing
2. Things you can do with very little
3. Things you can do with another person

1. THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Blink wildly and then close your eyes really tight for an interesting light show
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
See a variety of blobs, stars and flashes. Try to make out shapes and see if your subconscious is trying to send you a message (perhaps that funny shape is saying, 'send all your money to urban75.com'?)

See how long you can hold a note
(Amusement Potential: 4-20 minutes)
Not that much fun, but it sure passes the time. Play with a friend, or try to beat your own personal best. Inhale deeply and then try and make a noise for as long as you can. Earn extra points for making your partner laugh or ending on an amusing note.

Try to not think about penguins
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
This is especially hard, because by trying too much, you remember what you were trying to avoid thinking of. If you try too little, you end up thinking about penguins anyway.

Use your secret mind power
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Pick a passing by and try to use your mind power to command them do something, like drop their bag or knock into someone. The law of averages dictates that sooner or later one of your mind commands will come true, so you can convince yourself that you really have super human powers and waste even more time trying them out.

Pretend you're a robot
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Walk down the street with mechanical movements, adding 'zzzzzt' sounds with each motion. Pretending to have a motor broken in, say, your left hand can add at least 30 seconds more entertainment.

Scratch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Go ahead, scratch yourself now. Even if nothing itches, go ahead. Doesn't that feel pretty good?

Rate passers by
(Amusement Potential: 10-15 minutes)
Secretly award passers by marks out of ten as you go along, offering (unsaid) expert criticism over their clothing, hairstyle and footwear choices.

Repeat the same word over and over until it loses its meaning
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Pick a random word out of a magazine and say it aloud to yourself until it becomes a meaningless set of noises.

Pinch yourself
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
What is pain? Why is it unpleasant? There's nothing physical about it - it's all in your mind. Plus, after pinching yourself for awhile, boredom will seem nice next to being in pain.

Try to swallow your tongue
(Amusement Potential: 1-2 minutes)
There's not much to say about this one. It is possible, but really stupid.

Pretend to be a car
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Make appropriate revving noises in your head as you walk along and add a racing commentary as you pass strangers in the street. Use blinking eyes as indicators for extra authenticity.

Make Star Trek door noises
(Amusement Potential: 1-2 minutes)
Stand by an electric door to a bank or something and make that silly "Scccccccchwop" sound heard whenever people popped on to the bridge to hang with Captain Kirk.

Look at something for awhile, shut eyes, study after image
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
Another great time waster. It takes about 30 seconds of staring to create an after image, and the image is then viewable for about the same length of time. Fun to combine this one with pushing on your eyes.

Get yourself as nauseated as possible
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Best achieved by looking straight up and spinning around. Try to be so dizzy you can't even stand up. This is also entertaining due to the "makes boredom seem a lot better" effect (see "Hurt Yourself").

Invent a weird twitch
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Adopt a bizarre twitch (e.g. flicking your head irregularly, twitching with eye or busting out sporadic cough noises) and try it out when you go shopping.

Make a low buzzing noise
(Amusement Potential: 15-30 minutes)
Hours of fun in libraries! Keeping a totally straight face and looking nonchalant, make a low pitch humming/buzzing noise and see who reacts.

2. THINGS YOU CAN DO WHEN BORED WITH VERY LITTLE

See what's in your neighbour's rubbish/trash
(Amusement Potential: 20-30 minutes)
You can learn a lot about people by what they throw out. You might uncover some dark secret about them. Plus, they might be throwing out something with value that still works, like a VCR or some porn mags.

Watch TV, repeat everything said in Italian accent
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Sort of entertaining. Include flamboyant shoulder shrugs for added impact, or go for a Marlon Brando set of grunts.

Send spooky emails
(Amusement Potential: 15-60 minutes)
Look up someone's CV on the web, do some research on them via Google and then send them an email full of personal references claiming to be an ex-work colleague who fell in love with their shoes. Or something.

Make prank phone calls
(Amusement Potential: 20-60 minutes)
Very entertaining, but requires discipline. Remember - vulgarities don't make a call funny, but getting the other person to believe a ridiculous story will. Try seeing if you can get them to make noises to 'test' the line. One to get you started off: Call McDonalds with weird complaints about their food.

Pretend all humans will die except for people in room with you
Amusement Potential: 10-20 minutes)
What would you do if this really happened? Would the group stay together, or would there be factions? Who would join what group? Remember, there would only be power for a few days before the plants ran out of fuel or broke. To travel, you would always have to be near cars to siphon gas out of. Best to do with people you know.

Step off a curb with eyes shut, imagine it's a cliff
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
To get any benefit out of this one, you have to have a good imagination. Don't step off immediately, build up to the jump. Study the ravine below. Feel the winds at that altitude. Step off and...AHHHHHH!!!!!

Try and sound Welsh
(Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
The key to sounding Welsh is to make sure that your voice goes up at the end of the sentence, so that everything sounds like a question. Throw in a superfluous 'isn't it?' at the end of everything you say and you're halfway there. Isn't it?

Burn things with a magnifying glass
(Amusement Potential: 5-30 minutes)
Ants are always fun to use for this, but burning the face of someone you don't like, under some circumstances, can be just as entertaining.

3. THINGS YOU CAN DO WHEN BORED WITH ANOTHER PERSON

Have a water gargling contest
(Amusement Potential: 5-10 minutes)
Put a glassful of water in your mouth and see how long you can keep gargling for. Award yourself extra points for loud and amusing gargling noises, and minus points if you laugh.

Stare at the back of someone's head until they turn around
(Amusement Potential: 2-5 minutes)
This works on the "I have the feeling I'm being watched" principle. Conduct an experiment-does this really work?

Have a "Who is less competitive" competition
wonder (Amusement Potential: 1-3 minutes)
Trying to win at this will make you lose. Trying to lose makes you win which makes you lose. Not trying at all makes you lose which makes you win which makes you lose.

Pick up a dog so it can see things from your point of view
(Amusement Potential: 3-5 minutes)
Think about it: your dog has only seen the house from a viewpoint from 6" to 2' high (15 to 60 cm for all you metric fans). It's never seen the tops of counters, what you keep on your desk, the tops of shelves, etc. Try looking at things from its point of view, too.

Pull out a hair, stick in someone's ear
(Amusement Potential: 1-5 minutes)
Best done to sleeping people. Added challenge in having no one else around, because then you can't blame it on anyone else. Try to beat your record number of times before the person catches on.

Pour water in hand, make sneeze noise, throw water on back of person's neck
(Amusement Potential: 5-15 minutes)
Always a good gag. For an even bigger reaction out of the person, act like you're not sorry at all for what they think you did. Comment instead on how big that sneeze was or about how there was a lot of mucus in that one.

DISCLAIMER: Obviously, a lot of these suggestions are really dumb things to do, so don't take them seriously. =) Have fun~
